Information
The
33rd Annual Tire Mechanics Short Course will be held concurrently
with the International Tire Exhibition and Conference (ITEC)
(9/16-9/18) and Tire Society Conference (9/15-9/16) with the
aim of having the tire industry and the tire community together
in one place at one time.
This five-day course will provide engineers and scientists with an in-depth,
intense study of developments surrounding tire engineering.
The course is designed for practicing engineers, chemists, and scientists concerned
with tires and vehicles who have an engineering or science background at the
Bachelor of Science level. The basic aspects of the mechanics of pneumatic
tires will be introduced by internationally renowned experts in tire mechanics.
Over 1000 pages of course notes on CD's prepared by the instructors will be provided
for all
participants. Those who complete this course will receive a certificate
from The University of Akron.

The
symposium will be offered from September 15 to September 19, 2008,
8 a.m. to
5 p.m. Lunch is provided every day. From Tuesday to Thursday refreshment
breaks
and lunches will be mingled with ITEC attendees, allowing for exceptional
interactions
and networking opportunities. Participants are invited to attend
ITEC cocktail
receptions on Tuesday and Thursday as well as to visit the ITEC exhibit
hall all three days
of the show.

St. downtown
